Zion's youth ministry engages youth in every part of congregational life!
We're training our youth to become active family member's in Christ's community. This means everyone gets to participate - an natural leaders lead - and nobody has to become "old" before they are allowed to become full participants or leaders in the church! We trust the Spirit to teach us who will be our leaders, and how we will be led.

Zion-kid-sacred-art
This is the way that we describe what happens every Sunday after the children's sermon: Our kids create beautiful art reflections of the Gospel as they worship with their families. This art becomes their "offering" and decorates our walls at Zion!

Sunday School
Sunday School is every Sunday, all year round, for all ages - especially in the summer, when kids have time and need community.

Youth Events
Our Youth Events will occasionally cross generational edges and occasionally they will be very "grade-specific". We attend Christian Rock and Roll shows in Portland, we go on zany youth events: we lead worship in hand bell ensembles and play in worship bands.
We plan and enjoy retreats together. We laugh, sing, study scripture, ask some hard questions, wrestle, and learn to follow Jesus - together!

Confirmation
Middle School students attend Wednesday evening meals, followed by Confirmation classes. During these sessions we learn God's Story and the confessions of the ancient Christian & contemporary Lutheran church. After two years, our students confess the faith into which they are baptized and are confirmed. Confirmed Lutherans simply know more about their faith!
